I compose purely and simply in ceramics – just like folk art used to do: with limited tools and a clear concept. I want to pass on everything I see in the world in a way that is easily intelligible for everyone.

Rephrase things for today’s people so that the past beauty survives deep inside and still delights us in the present.

I use simple clay and glazes. Basic elements are : light, the Universe, human existence, time and the way they move and throb. My basic principle is simplicity.

I would like to pug the power of creation and the happiness of being created into clay and make it radiate through.

For me touching clay is an elemental joy – a possibility of expression gifted by God.

Introduction

I was born in 1972 in Fehérgyarmat, Hungary. I grew up in Vámosoroszi and Kölcse, in the Szatmár region.

As the craft of gilded-wax Easter egg painting is a part of my family heritage, folk art runs in my blood. I still make and teach the art of Easter egg writing in folk museums and events related to folk traditions.

I graduated from the Teacher Training College of Debrecen in 1994 as a primary school teacher specialised in visual arts. My master was Makoldi Sándor. Here I started to paint batik pictures.

I started to work with ceramics during my college years in the workshop of Molnárné Ötvös Tünde.
I have also completed a special course in ceramics and taught pottery as a student.

Later I graduated from Debrecen University as a philologist and teacher of English language and literature.
I still teach.

I consider it a gift from God that I can prepare ceramics – it simply makes me happy. It is love, actually.
